Trees are part of the equation on India's West Coast
The forest department in Udupi, India has created a plan for planting trees in urban and rural areas along roadsides. Some of them will provide future timber and nut products. The article does not mention any other ecological or economic values associated with the planting of trees. Despite that, it is nice to read this tidbit about community forestry in the world!
