New shrimp/prawn invader in Great Lakes

The greatest threat to the Great Lakes' ecosystem since the Zebra mussel is a mysid shrimp, Hemimysis anomala. Like the Zebra mussel, this species also hails from the rivers feeding the Caspian Sea of Eastern Europe. What will two alien filter feeders do to the food web? Could the shrimp also make to inland waters? Sounds like SeaGrant and Cooperative Extension services have some more educational work to do now.
