Eugene, OR is #1, followed by Austin, TX. Boston makes #11, Cambridge makes #15, Milwaukee makes #20, and Ann Arbor makes #23. Let the record show that Columbus, OH appears no where on the top 25 list.
Most of the so-called green cities are out west. The Water Quality factor takes drinking water quality into account and not the source of drinking water or the condition of local aquifers. If they included that in the analysis, many of these cities- especially those out west- would be off the list. Still, these top 10 cities should serve as an excellent example to other cities wishing to improve their environmental quality and overall quality of life.
