Octavia Butler dies

Not directly related to UrbanEco, but a notable Science Fiction author, Octavia Butler, has died of a stroke at age 58. Butler, whose work often included themes on the psychological impacts of slavery and survival in a postapocalyptic world (which I guess is related to Urban Ecology), was one of the first African American Science Fiction writers. I recommend Parable of the Talents.
