Romney's flipflop on reducing the Northeast's climate impact

It's been all over the news lately in Mass. While many people in Romney's administration- including Romney himself- had been working on and talking up the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI or "Reggie") for several months, Romney pulled the state of Massachusetts out of RGGI citing economic difficulties. Critics argue that Romney did it for political purposes related to his 2008 presidential bid (i.e., recieving support from the coal, utility and auto industries). The NRDC points out that even the Office for Commonwealth Development- an office of Romney's creation- said that their would be neglible effects on energy prices, and could in fact lead to possible benefits for end users.

If this were a certain senator from Massachussets, the press would be pasting the words "flip-flopper" on every page.
