Danger to North Atlantic Deep sea fisheries

As cod fisheries have collapsed, people have switched to trawling for deep sea fishes. Trawling has got to be one of the most wasteful practices I have ever witnessed. Picture 80-90% levels of bycatch after 4 hours of scraping the bottom of the ocean then throwing the dead bycatch back to the sea after you've collected your product. They pull up things that take years to regenerate.
