Calling off Mardi Gras and Closing down shop in New Orleans

There is a huge divide right now in New Orleans and among the Katrina diaspora over holding Mardi Gras. Some see it as a way to boost funding for reconstruction efforts, while others just see it as bad taste after a disaster.

In more news, the President has denied funding for the reconstruction of Louisiana's coastal wetlands, which practically invites further disaster as he simultaneously encourages people to move back to New Orleans.
