The Link Between Smog and Urban Trees
As this study suggests, there may be a link between the rising levels of ground-level ozone (smog) and the health of the sugar maple in Cleveland, OH.

That was an informative article, Reid. Thanks for posting it. I would add, though, that planting more urban trees does not necessarily help the ozone problem. Trees as well as cars release volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which contribute to ozone formation. Some trees release more than others, so selecting the right trees to plant is important.
