From March 15 through March 19 filmmakers and activists from around the country will converge on North Adams where MASS MoCA, hosting the second annual Projections Film Forum, will partner with Working Films to present a festival and interactive workshop for documentary filmmakers committed to using film for social advocacy. The four-day forum will showcase two films dealing with environmental issues and their related activist campaigns.
The environmental films to be screened are The Forest for the Trees , by Bernadine Mellis, a participant in last year's workshop at MASS MoCA and The Real Dirt on Farmer John by Taggart Siegel about a Midwestern farmer who molded his traditional family farm into one of the largest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) projects in the country.Films will be screened in MASS MoCA's Club B-10 where comfortable couches and café tables and chairs create a Cinema Lounge. Complete dinners, snacks, ice cream, coffee and other beverages will be available from Lickety Split and the MASS MoCA bar at all films. Tickets are just $6 for each film.
Tickets for all films are $6. MASS MoCA members receive a 10% discount. Tickets are available in advance through the MASS MoCA Box Office located off Marshall Street in North Adams from 11 A.M. until 5 P.M. (closed Tuesdays). Tickets can also be charged by phone by calling 413.662.2111.
