Baja Real Estate Boom

American retirees are buying homes throughout the entire Gulf of California Region- not just Baja. Mexico is more than willing to sell the land and make some money, but from personal observation, natural resource managers and enforcement has not kept up with the pace of growth. Some of the American fishermen I met there say that they come to Mexico to avoid the regulations in the U.S. They don't care what size fish they catch or how many they take. Mexico has some work to do to take care of one of last productive fisheries in the world.

As usual in the desert, water will become even more of an issue during this real estate boom.
