According to many stories in the news lately, Alberta is staged to become the next Saudi Arabia. Seems like good news, eh? Oil sands require more energy and freshwater to separtate the oil from the sand than crude oil does. Read the article for more concerns about the impacts of exploiting oil sands.
Seems like when it boils down to it, we really have to start using other sources of energy.
