In school, we often don't learn about what was happening with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. between the years of 1964 and his death in 1968. He was mobilizing his civil rights efforts to be more inclusive and to tackle an even bigger problem than racism: poverty.
Many also don't know about one of the people that worked behind the scenes with Dr. King and was thought for a time to be his successor after he was assasinated. The man that whispered in Dr. King's ear was named Bayard Rustin. See if you can figure out why he didn't actually end up taking over the spotlight...
