Southern California's network of nature preserves

The work of conservation groups, reclamation of closed military bases, and abandoned mine lands are giving way to a network of natural areas in southern California. Some lands are undergoing restoration and are set to open for public use in the near future. There are even plans in some areas to link some the nature preserves to allow for wildlife to travel through corridors. This is a great development for the wildlife of the heavily urbanized SoCal region.
