New Orleans reconstruction is a private matter
Some witty editor has filed this story about how what was proclaimed to be one of the largest public reconstruction efforts under the chapter "The New Deal." In contrast to that statement by a certain Washington outsider who has been president for the past 5 years, many people from New Orelans are having to clean up and redevelop their own properties with little or no assistance from the government. Whether enough people will actually undertake this arduous task on their own seems highly doubtful, which makes one wonder if New Orleans is to become an abandoned city.
