You know what's awesome? Maps. KILLER maps. The advancement of GIS technology is astounding, and it's quickly becoming less of a speciality and more a part of our everyday lives. Non-profits and municipalities used to spend years developing online mapping applications with programs such as ArcIMS (check out this one, from the Providence Plan), but programs like Google Earth are changing everything.
